The problem Case Study on a Web Portal for Research solves
People who wish to write research papers often do not have prior experience. Or they may be new to the field where they wish to conduct their research. Hence it would be useful to have a website or portal which contains sample research papers, useful tips on how to conduct research, as well as advice from people who are already have published papers in that field, with a chatbox and a community to help solve any doubts the people may have. It can also be expanded to include other formats of writing like articles, blogs, etc.
Challenges we ran into
For making such a website or portal, the needs of users and their convenience must be kept in mind. Making the portal easy to use for customers (students, professors, academicians, etc.) is of paramount importance. The portal should be user-friendly, easily accessible, easy to navigate, simple, and informative. User’s feedback must also be regularly taken and kept in mind while making improvements in the portal.
Keeping in mind the security of users, we’ll add the functionality of authentication and authorisation so that the data of users is protected without the threat of a third party.
The most important thing to keep in mind while designing the web portal is that the portal should be easy to navigate, access and use by people with either varying levels of technical experience, or people with no technical experience whatsoever.
The users should be able to easily find what they are looking for in the website.
