The problem Urbanscale : Smart Location Quality Index solves
With the rise of AI, we find that there is an increasing threat of malicious spread of misinformation, falsification of data, and unreliable sources in the sector of real estate. Most reviews are biased and flawed. Also identifiable is the tremendous amount of physical labor that goes into researching for a potential plot, not to mention the unavailability of important information such as air quality, water quality, neighborhood crime rate, etc. These factors propose major hurdles for users, whether personal or professional.
Challenges I ran into
One of the major hurdles we faced was integrating multiple datasets to generate an accurate location score. Ensuring that data from different sources was compatible and reliable required significant effort. Additionally, designing a smooth and visually appealing frontend transition using HTML and CSS was challenging, as we wanted it to be both intuitive and responsive.
To overcome these challenges, we implemented data validation techniques to filter out unreliable information and standardized our data processing pipeline. For the frontend, we experimented with various CSS animations and transitions to create a seamless user experience. Through continuous testing and iteration, we successfully refined our platform to deliver accurate results with an engaging interface
