The problem Upward solves

Token-gating content using NFTs is not novel. It's already a fairly big industry in web3. However, subscription-based token-gating is something unheard of largely due to the technical difficulties faced with recurring payments. This project allows any creator to token-gate their project and make it accessible to only those who pay a recurring subscription fee powered by Superfluid.

This project uses a concept of existential NFTs i.e, as long as there is a token stream between a creator and a subscriber the according to terms in the NFT contract, it will indicate that the subscriber holds one NFT and this mechanism can be used for making content accessible to token-streamers. This project demonstrates a PoC using Superfluid and Paragraph.xyz. However, this mechanism can be used by any other NFT-based token-gating project, Best of all, the contracts are simple, don't contain any money, and are immutable by design!
