The problem UniversalGPIO solves
It interfaces with the GPIO Pins directly from the kernel, which makes the code usable on any Linux os / Hardware which has GPIO pins. For Example, you can write code on a raspberry pi (with Raspian OS) then use the same code on an old Router that has GPIO pins and supports Linux / OpenWrt.
