The problem UniPortal solves

Provide a centralized platform for students to research and compare universities and programs worldwide. Offer personalized recommendations based on criteria such as Course, Location and Tuition fees. Provides details about College Name, Rating, Courses, City, State, Country ,Fees and Acceptance Rate. We have also made a ChatBot based on analyzing user input and preferences to generate personalized program recommendations.

Challenges we ran into

One of the primary challenges we encountered during the hackathon was sourcing a dataset that effectively addressed our project requirements. We initially explored various datasets available on platforms like Kaggle, with the aim of finding one that encompassed both India-specific and global data. Unfortunately, the datasets we came across did not fully align with our project's objectives, and the available information was either too region-specific or outdated.

Recognizing the importance of using up-to-date and relevant data for our project, we decided to create our own dataset. This process involved a significant investment of time and effort but allowed us to tailor the dataset to our specific needs, ensuring that it accurately represented both the Indian and global contexts. Although this presented an unexpected hurdle, overcoming it not only enhanced the quality of our project but also underscored our commitment to delivering a comprehensive and impactful solution.
