Prediction marketplaces solve the fundamental challenge of aggregating and monetizing collective intelligence in an era of information complexity and uncertainty. Traditional forecasting methods often fail to capture the nuanced, real-time insights that emerge from diverse perspectives and decentralized knowledge networks. By creating a dynamic, incentive-driven platform where participants can stake their understanding on potential future outcomes, these marketplaces transform individual hunches and expert insights into powerful, probabilistic forecasts. They democratize predictive intelligence, allowing anyone from professional analysts to domain enthusiasts to contribute meaningful signal amid the noise of speculation.
An additional revolutionary feature is the ability for users to create their own marketplaces by adding initial liquidity and earning a creator income. This empowers individuals, organizations, and communities to design tailored prediction markets on specific topics, events, or industries, expanding the platform’s versatility and enhancing the diversity of insights. By enabling anyone to create a market, prediction marketplaces encourage more dynamic, personalized, and inclusive forecasting, further democratizing the flow of information and decision-making.
Unlike traditional polling or expert panels, prediction markets leverage economic incentives and crowd wisdom to create more accurate, adaptive forecasting mechanisms that can anticipate everything from election results and technological breakthroughs to market trends and geopolitical shifts. By turning prediction into a tradable asset, these platforms not only generate more precise forecasts but also create a transparent, meritocratic system where the quality of insight is directly rewarded.
Moreover, our platforms doesn't have any limitations in decision-making processes across industries. Anyone can create a marketplace in any industry within seconds.
While building UnderDog: Prediction Marketplace we ran into some of the issues such as:-
1.) OKTO:- While Calling the Smart Contract Functions it was bit challenging. We faced some issues on that part to call our Functions from Smart Contract. The other main issue on OKTO was that the Transaction speed on okto is very slow sometimes or we can say a lot of times, so due to this our dapp takes more time in running the functions called. Apart from WEB we tried to build a mobile App as well but the FLUTTER SDK of OKTO is not working, so we were not able to build the mobile application. One more challenge is that there is no TESTNET on Okto so lot of time it creates a issue for us.
2.) Uniswap:- The majore issue with the Uniswap was the Transaction speed is slow on Uniswap, rest we were able to build easily on it, just the transction speed is slow which makes the app to function slow.
Apart from the sponsors challenge, we personally ran into some challenges and the major one was in Multichain Integration. We tried to integrate more than 2 blockchains, so it was a bit challenging for us to integrate everything and make it run. This were the challenges we ran into while building the UnderDog: Prediction Marketplace.
