The problem Trueshot solves

Trueshot is a photo application designed to address the growing concerns of digital image manipulation and the proliferation of fake or AI-generated images. As digital media continues to evolve, so do the techniques used to alter and fabricate visual content. This has led to a significant decline in trust, impacting not only the credibility of media outlets but also the livelihoods of genuine content creators. Trueshot tackles these issues by providing a reliable and unalterable proof of origin and ownership for photos, thereby restoring trust in digital media.

Authenticity is vital for photographers, artists, and other content creators who rely on the integrity of their work to build their reputations and businesses. Trueshot provides an unalterable proof of origin and ownership by creating a NFT at point of capture. This makes it easy for creators to establish and demonstrate the authenticity of their work.

Traditional methods of proving ownership of digital content can be cumbersome, involving complex and often unreliable processes. Trueshot automates and simplifies this by incorporating ownership details by minting an NFT at the time of capture. This streamlined approach makes it straightforward for creators to manage and assert their rights over their content.

Challenges I ran into

There has been several hurdles overcame while building Trueshot. I've done significant user testing and continue to refine the captute / mint process to make it as easy as possible. The photo capture / mint process is crucial to making Trueshot function as intended. One specific hurdle within this process was the requirement to prove that the application interacting with the Trueshot contract was a trusted Trueshot application. There is a cryptographic signature handshake process built in that needs to match against the signature on the contract. If this wasn't in place, someone with enough technical knowledge could interact with the contract directly and mint a Trueshot without going through the Trueshot process.
