Building TrueLens presented several significant technical hurdles that tested our development skills:

Cross-Chain Integration Between Rootstock and SAGA

Challenge: Establishing seamless communication between our Rootstock smart contracts and SAGA chainlet proved exceptionally difficult. Initial attempts using simple message passing resulted in failed transactions and inconsistent state updates between chains.

Solution: We implemented a Hyperlane bridge integration that provided reliable cross-chain messaging with transaction verification. This allowed our verification data and token rewards to flow securely between ecosystems while maintaining data consistency.

The bridge implementation required:

• Custom message formatting to ensure compatibility across chains
• Careful gas optimization to make cross-chain operations affordable
• Robust error handling and transaction recovery mechanisms

AI Agent Optimization for Real-Time Verification

Challenge: Our initial AI verification agents struggled with processing speed when analyzing news from multiple sources simultaneously.

Solution: We restructured our agents to use parallel processing pipelines and implemented a priority queue system based on news relevance. This improved verification throughput by 3x while maintaining accuracy.

IPFS Content Storage Reliability

Challenge: Early testing revealed inconsistent content availability when storing larger media files on IPFS.

Solution: We developed a distributed pinning strategy with redundancy across multiple IPFS nodes and implemented content addressing verification to ensure data integrity. This dramatically improved content availability rates from ~85% to over 99%.

User Experience for Complex Verification Flows

Challenge: User testing showed confusion around the verification process and token staking requirements.

Solution: We redesigned the verification interface with a step-by-step guided approach.
