Challenges I ran into
While developing the Transport Management System, I encountered several challenges that required strategic problem-solving:
1️⃣ Ensuring Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) 🔐
- Challenge: Implementing a module-based permission system to restrict user access based on roles.
- Solution: Designed a fine-grained access control mechanism, where each user has specific permissions assigned, preventing unauthorized access to critical features.
2️⃣ Database Optimization for Faster Queries ⚡
- Challenge: Handling large datasets efficiently without slowing down the system.
- Solution: Implemented proper indexing, optimized SQL queries, and normalized database tables to enhance performance.
3️⃣ Seamless Item Tracking System 📦
- Challenge: Accurately tracking items across different cities while maintaining data integrity.
- Solution: Used relational database constraints and foreign keys to link shipments with their respective destinations, ensuring consistency.
4️⃣ Keyboard Shortcuts Integration ⌨️
- Challenge: Enabling shortcut keys for quick navigation while ensuring they don’t conflict with browser defaults.
- Solution: Carefully mapped Alt + Key combinations and tested across multiple browsers to maintain a smooth experience.
