The problem Today solves
How Gen Z and Gen Alpha make investment and trading decisions doesn't involve technical analysis or hard fundamentals. They make decisions based on their conviction, social sentiment, and the behaviors of their networks
Today helps young traders and investors:
- Easily trade onchain perps from a mobile-native experience
- Discover and follow the moves of other traders to help inform their trading decisions; mirror or inverse-mirror their trades
- Get notified when traders they follow make trading decisions
- View social-first metrics like market sentiment and AI-powered analysis on tokens
Challenges I ran into
Deep into development, I made the strategic decision to pivot from Hyperliquid as our exchange partner to Avantis (Base).
The challenge was that Avantis' SDK is Python-based and our backend is Typescript.
I stayed up for 48 hours straight and coded an entire Typescript SDK package for Avantis.
Now, the migration from Hyperliquid to Avantis has taking us less than two weeks to complete.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?
Today is a social investing app that makes DeFi accessible and intuitive for a new generation of investors. While most platforms focus on charts and jargon, Today translates on-chain data into social signals—showing users what their network is trading and learning from. It combines smart asset discovery, AI-powered insights, and collaborative investing to build financial confidence through community. Our alpha demonstrates that social validation and clarity can turn curiosity into real on-chain participation.
Who is your target customer?

Crypto native perps traders who are active on social to help inform their trading.

Crypto trading influencers/content creators who actively share technical analysis, alpha, and their own trades publicly on X or other platforms.
I've talked to and demo'd the experience to 12+ high-volume traders and a handful of trading influencers. The experience resonated with them unanimously. They also contributed to giving hands-on feedback to help improve areas that were confusing.
Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?

Our trading experience is best-in-class and tailored for mobile. PVP.trade is Telegram-based and doesn't have a dedicated mobile experience.

Trust and legitimacy. All of the competitors focus on degen/memecoin communities that has high attrition and low retention. TODAY is focused on offering social trade signals and helping traders make smarter decisions.
What is your distribution strategy and why?
