I am participating in Based SEA because of my commitment to creating decentralized solutions that promote public good, sustainability, and inclusivity, all of which are vital to the Southeast Asia region. This region, with its diverse cultures and growing digital landscape, faces significant challenges around equitable access to technology, transparency in governance, and environmental sustainability. By leveraging blockchain technology, I aim to contribute to empowering local communities by providing secure, transparent, and decentralized systems for event management and public engagement. My motivation is rooted in a vision to align technology with sustainable development goals.
The primary challenges I am focusing on include lack of transparency in public event management, inefficient distribution of resources for community causes, and limited access to decentralized governance systems. In many communities, event ticketing, fundraising, and governance are still highly centralized, leading to inefficiencies, corruption, and lack of trust. By integrating Base blockchain into my DApp, I aim to solve these issues by providing transparent, immutable tracking for event participation, secure ticketing systems, and decentralized governance structures through DAOs. This not only enhances trust but also democratizes participation in decision-making processes, helping communities sustainably manage their resources.
My submission is a DApp built on blockchain technology with smart contracts to decentralize event management, ticketing, and governance. It tracks public events, personal ticketing, and attendance, while also providing a marketplace for selling and buying tickets. By offering decentralized governance through DAOs, the platform enables communities to make collective decisions about event funding and resource allocation, fostering transparency and accountability. This directly addresses the challenge of inefficiencies in public resource distribution, particularly for fundraising and events. In terms of sustainability, the project aligns with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting efficient resource management by offering decentralized funding options for causes, reducing environmental impact through blockchain’s immutability and security.
One of the major technical challenges I encountered was ensuring the security and scalability of the smart contracts, given the complexity of handling decentralized ticketing, event management, and liquidity pools. I had to carefully design the contract architecture to avoid vulnerabilities while also keeping the system efficient for large-scale events. On the non-technical side, getting users to understand and trust decentralized systems was another challenge. To overcome this, I focused on educating users about the benefits of decentralization, transparency, and the alignment of these solutions with public good and sustainability. I also simplified the user interface to enhance accessibility and ensure that even non-technical users could engage with the DApp smoothly.
Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
