The problem Therapist.ai solves

Accessibility.Affordability.Anonymity.

As we all know, mental health issues among the masses have been on the rise in recent years, especially at the time of pandemic. But due to the mental stigma or challenges people hesitate from seeking help/ reaching out. (And consulting a therapist isn’t really an option for everyone.)

  • We aim to provide the users with personalised solutions, suggest mental models, routines and help them build healthy habits.
  • A Chat Assistant designed in a way so that it can emulate a conversation between a therapist and a patient. The bot is a compassionate listener and can hold helpful, meaningful conversation with the users in a natural way. Its aim is to make the user feel heard, and ask follow-up questions encouraging openness.
  • Users can use our products while being anonymous. Not everyone can afford therapy and not everyone is comfortable sharing their experience with another human being.

STP For our Product

  • Individuals with diagnosed mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety.

  • Individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges but have not sought a formal diagnosis.

  • Individuals who are interested in mental health and self-improvement, and are looking for tools and resources to support their well-being.

  • Institutions,Colleges, corporate organizations, or any employers looking to provide mental health support to their employees.

P.S- Initially started working on this project a week ago for a college fest hackathon. Submitted a modified and improved version here.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Using OpenAI and fine-tuning models are fairly expensive.
  2. Publicly available real-life datasets are not necessarily sufficiently comprehensive.
  3. Documentations of Frameworks for LLM applications are a bit difficult to understand as they are fairly new And with no prior experience of working with them proved to be a barrier in making a more comprehensive model at this moment.
