The healthcare system is a maze. It’s built on archaic, disconnected systems that don’t talk to each other. Your most personal information—your health history—is fractured, scattered across different offices, and locked in digital filing cabinets where you don't have the key.
This creates confusion and inefficiency for both patients and doctors.
But the real problem, the fundamental problem, is this: You don't own your own medical data.
Think about that. The most critical information about your life is not truly yours. You can’t control it, you can’t easily move it, and you can’t decide who gets to see it. It’s a system designed without you at the center.
That’s the problem we solve. Dava uses technology not just to streamline things, but to fix this fundamental flaw. We are giving ownership of medical data back to the patient, where it belonged all along.

Look, building something that’s truly new is never easy. It’s hard. You run into walls. But that’s where the breakthroughs happen. We ran into a few big ones.
Making It All Just Work
The first challenge was connecting two different universes. On one side, you have the simple, fast web that everyone knows and loves. On the other, you have the incredible power and security of the blockchain. Getting these two to dance together seamlessly—so the user feels none of the complexity—was a monumental task. We obsessed until the technology became invisible.
The Privacy Puzzle
This was the big one. How do you put something as private as a medical record on a blockchain? People said it couldn't be done. The challenge was to re-think the problem. We designed a system where the NFT isn't the record itself, but a secure, encrypted key to the record. The patient owns the key. The data lives securely on a decentralized network. It was an incredible design and engineering challenge to give you the transparency of the blockchain with the privacy you demand.
Hiding the Complexity
The biggest challenge of all? Making all of this power feel simple. A doctor or a patient doesn't have time to think about wallets or smart contracts. They just want to get things done. We spent countless hours designing an experience that is so intuitive, so clean, that it hides all the revolutionary technology humming away beneath the surface. It had to feel as easy as sending a message.
These weren't just bugs to fix. They were fundamental problems to be solved. And we solved them.
