Why are you participating for Based LatAm?
TheBadge's inclusion in the Base LatAm hackathon is particularly valuable as it actively supports local communities in Argentina by offering them access to a platform for issuing course certificates
What challenges are you focusing on?
Our main challenge right now is to expand our users community and showcase our product to more and more proffesors, educational institutions and people that will be benefitted of using this application
How does your submission address this challenge?
TheBadge offers a decentralized credential issuing solution, enabling educational platforms to issue verifiable certificates on Base/Optimism. By deploying on Base/Optimism, where many Latin American educational communities like Solow.io are active, we’re able to reach and support regional educators with a secure and transparent credentialing system. With Base’s support, TheBadge can further amplify this impact, ensuring that Latin American educators and institutions have access to tools that enhance their reach and reputation.
Challenges I ran into
Since we deployed on Base/Optimism to reach the many Latin American educational platforms using the network, we had to ensure our platform was fully compatible with Optimism/Base’s environment. Optimism’s unique characteristics required specific adjustments in our smart contract design and interactions, especially with regard to gas efficiency. We overcame this by optimizing our contract functions to minimize costs and by rigorously testing compatibility to ensure smooth operations on Optimism.
