The problem The Scheduler solves
It takes the timetable data from students and uses the data stored in mySQL and uses it to make a custom timetable for the teacher.
One can drag and drop the events in the table to reschedule and directly informs the teacher. The teacher can now accept the proposal and change back the time table according to his choice. This simplifies the communication and makes it easy for the student to follow the timetable
Challenges we ran into
Absence of any pre-requisite knowledge in web developement had us investing a major portion of time in learning and implementing stuff.
Adding the drag and drop feature to the webpage was a major challenge as we did'nt have any clue how to do it. We had to read websites' script and interpret them on how they work and what function the syntaxes bear.
Integrating the front end and back was a also quite a challenge as we were confused how to integrate the superficial changes we make on the webpage in the actual code so that we can save it without manually editing the source code.
