A payment app that will allow renters to deposit money, acrue interest and protect their deposit.
The problem The project is called Estafy solves
Most rent deposits are lost, withheld or multiplied leading to financial difficulties for renters. In big cities, renters deposit money for substandard properties and lose their money based on dubious landlords, competitive tenants and poor rent deposit schemes.
Challenges I ran into
Setting up the payment system was problematic since it was decentralised. Also, it was difficult outlining an incentive model for landlords. Lastly, we needed a way to ensure renters wouldnt withdraw their deposits and incur losses for the landlords.
