The problem The Inspirational Boat solves
The Inspirational Boat makes space learning fun and interactive for students and enthusiasts.
It helps simplify complex topics like black holes and astrophysics by allowing users to:
• Play games to understand black hole behavior.
• Draw galaxies using a space-themed canvas.
• Solve puzzles to win cosmic rewards.
• Follow Earth’s character as it explores different space phenomena.
It creates an immersive experience where science becomes curiosity-driven, and education is powered by interaction and creativity.
Challenges I ran into
• Electron + HTML syncing issues: Every time I edited HTML, I had to rebuild the .app manually. I fixed this by separating development and production builds, using electron-reload during development.
• Context menus inside renderer: Implementing right-click context menus that navigate between pages required remote module usage, which was deprecated. I had to research Electron’s newer context isolation patterns and use contextBridge to enable secure communication between main and renderer.
• Character animation errors: At first, animations didn’t load properly inside the canvas. I debugged it by checking paths, adding proper fallbacks, and ensuring images were preloaded before drawing.
These hurdles helped me learn deep concepts in Electron, canvas rendering, and modular design.
