The problem The dotMED project solves

The dotMed Project promises to revolutionise the healthcare industry by doing away with centralised medical record keeping systems and paper-based documentation. Such a system has problems like theft, loss, unauthorised access, fragmented medical information causing inaccurate diagnoses, and unexpected gaps in service. Decentralised storage powered by blockchain technology offers a classic solution to all of these problems.

The way in which this suggested approach operates just gets better and better. The patient becomes the only owner of their own data, eliminating any third parties. Data is kept in a single location without being fragmented, which makes it possible for approved health staff to exchange data more easily. The concern for appropriate data security is elegantly addressed and taken care of.

The provision for a one-to-one huddle meet is incorporated- wallet based meet with doctors and a personal medical handle that stores everything at one place, to be solidified into a NFC health card supported with an Insurance Protocol.

Challenges we ran into

Even though there were a lot of ideas we wished to incorporate and bring to life , the limited amount of 36 hour we were supplemented with restricted our work a lot .
The idea of making a personal NFC card, have been set aside to be looked into as one of our major milestone checkpoints in the future. The same goes for deploying the Insurance protocol we intended to develop.
