The problem TGOA: OOKAMI solves
TGOA IP
TGOA is a Web3-based IP with a large fan base. While there have been various NFTs and events up to Season 3, there has always been a longing for interactive elements like games, both from us and the TGOA community. To address this desire, TGOA: OOKAMI provides fans with fun and rewards while offering an opportunity to easily experience blockchain technology and token economics.
Game Description
TGOA: OOKAMI is a Survivors-like game that allows fans to experience the TGOA universe. By clearing chapters, players can earn SBT on Base Chain and collect falling $OOKAMI to receive a future DN404 Token on Base Chain airdrop. This process allows players to feel a sense of achievement within the game while naturally engaging with blockchain technology.
Key Solutions
One of the key solutions the game offers is $OOKAMI, designed as DN404, a fractional NFT that allows for safe and reliable transactions. This provides a more flexible reward system through tokenization. Additionally, the game's ranking system adds competitive excitement and fosters community engagement.
TGOA: OOKAMI is built with WebGL, allowing for quick play without installation. Powered by Unity and integrated with GHARLIERA art and Spine, it offers users the ability to customize their characters as they wish, enhancing the user experience and increasing game immersion.
Community Engagement
In response to the TGOA community's demand, we implemented a variety of skills and character customization options. This allows players to develop their unique gameplay styles and share them with others. These features increase replayability and encourage active community participation.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring Fun and Engagement
One of the biggest challenges we faced was ensuring the game remained fun and engaging for players. As TGOA has a large and dedicated fan base, it was crucial to meet their expectations. We addressed this by integrating customizable Spine characters, allowing players to personalize and share their unique characters easily. We also implemented a variety of skills to keep the gameplay dynamic and enjoyable.
Integrating Blockchain Technology
Integrating blockchain technology into the game presented significant hurdles. Initially, we used the Metamask SDK, but implementing multi-wallet login was particularly challenging. This integration was complex and posed several technical issues. To overcome this, we collaborated with ThridWeb, replacing the Metamask SDK with the ThridWeb Unity Plugin. This solution allowed us to implement multi-wallet login quickly and efficiently, significantly improving the user experience.
Fair Reward System and Game Balance
Designing a fair reward system while maintaining game balance was another critical challenge. We created the $OOKAMI token and wrote the DN404 System Contract to facilitate future airdrops. To prevent abuse and ensure fairness, we established Time Caps, Max Caps, and Total Max Caps. Additionally, we utilized AWS Lambda Server and DynamoDB to track ranks and coin acquisition records, ensuring that the reward system was both fair and transparent.
WebGL and Browser Compatibility
Building the game to be played via WebGL introduced several technical difficulties, especially regarding browser compatibility. Issues such as photo capture and webpage design required careful handling. We focused on optimizing the WebGL build to ensure smooth gameplay across different browsers, enhancing accessibility and user experience.
