The problem Teman Bulus solves

TemanBulus is a blockchain-based virtual adoption platform where users can donate to sponsor real animals cared for by verified shelters and caretakers.

We aim to solve three main problems in animal welfare:

• Limited transparency in donation tracking.

• Lack of connection between donors and the animals they support.

• Barriers for busy people who want to help but cannot take on physical caregiving responsibilities.

How It Works:

• Virtual Adoption : Choose an animal to sponsor and support its food, medical care, and shelter needs.

• Real-Time Updates : Donors can follow their sponsored animal’s life through photos, videos, and caretaker logs.

• Verified Shelters via NFA : All shelters on TemanBulus are verified using our Non-Fungible Authentication (NFA) system, which uses blockchain technology to confirm credentials, ensure legitimacy, and prevent fraud.

• Blockchain Transparency : Every donation is recorded on the Ethereum blockchain, so donors can see exactly where their money goes.

• Easy for Busy People : Support animals without the time, space, or lifestyle demands of physical adoption.

Our mission is to connect animal lovers with rescue shelters in a secure, transparent, and meaningful way. Through Ethereum-based smart contracts and our NFA verification system, we ensure that every contribution directly benefits the animals in need, building trust, encouraging more support, and improving animal welfare worldwide.

Challenges we ran into

One of the most challenging aspects of the implementation was integrating Ethereum into our application. While the concept of connecting to the blockchain seemed straightforward in theory, in practice it required navigating complex configurations, wallet integrations, and smart contract deployment. We faced difficulties in establishing a stable connection between the Ethereum network, our backend logic, and The Graph subgraph, as each component had its own technical requirements and dependencies. Additionally, handling asynchronous blockchain transactions, managing gas fees, and ensuring data consistency across on-chain and off-chain environments demanded extensive troubleshooting and testing. These challenges not only slowed down development but also required us to deepen our understanding of blockchain infrastructure beyond initial expectations.
