The problem Team Maker solves
A real time Problems that we have faced while finding a team to participate in hackathon. Finding a random teammate or a team, and synchronizing our abilities in the best way possible which is really hard to do with people we don’t know anything about
Features We Provide
- User and Admin Authentication.
- Creation of Teams.
- Searching for Teams.
- Colloboration with Teams( Chat functionality ).
- List of all events like hackathons, competitions(for now we only support few events).
- Custom addition of events by Admin.
- Team and User Profiles.
Challenges we ran into
- As beginners to this race of innovating new products, we had a difficulty in forming teams and due to which we didn't have proper time to think about the project before actually coding. Also, due to the delayed registration into the hackathon we didn't get proper time to research and think about ideas and possibilities.
- We tried to use Agora.io for the real time chat and whiteboarding features, we couldn't get around the particular technology. We even hopped their slack and had a good discussion about our implementation, but due to lack of compatibility into web for the particular features, we have concluded to work with Socket.io.
- We ran into some issues in the back-end part while trying to implement filters for various hackathons, due to the lack of time we couldn't resolve those issue and thus decided to halt them temporarily for this submission.
- We had to brainstorm about the features to be implemented and work around the schema of the database and routes to be implemented. This took some time but we got our act together early and worked about it as we go on.
- We wanted to build it in a professional manner so that this is future proof. This required us to work with all the coding conventions with the aim of making this open sourced. Learning and working around these requirements made us and our project better. But it was quite challenging to implement these conventions in the strict time constraints given.
