Do we as consumers not want to be certain that our medications have been sourced from reliable sources? The pharmaceutical supply chain (PSC) is made up of a variety of parties, including distributors, manufacturers, raw material suppliers, regulators, pharmacies, hospitals, and patients. So, utilising blockchain technology, we intend to create a platform that can authenticate organisations in addition to providing information on all the middlemen.
1-The medicines do not have any unique id number which creates a problem that how will the user authenticate if the medicine is valid or not -so we found that the Gujrat government is working on releasing a unique id for every medicine https://www.psalegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Unique-ID-for-Drugs.pdf
2-Black marketing of medicines - The number of medicines manufactured should either be sold or returned to the manufacturer, if none is done, it implies that the medicines were sold in the black market. These medicines become untraceable to the source, i.e. the manufacturer. Hence, it is important for the vendor to return the medicines to the manufacturing organization, after the expiry date.
