Scan What You Eye

The problem SwiftShop solves

The proposed solution to the problems is shopping via scanning QR codes. When a customer in-store is interested in an item, the person can scan the respective QR code of the product while having an option of visiting multiple available stores for ticking items off their list without having to carry anything themselves, with just a tap on their smartphone screen. Once scanned, shoppers can confirm their order from the app and are then redirected to their virtual cart wherein they can make the purchase and have the option to get the items delivered on their doorstep in the most contactless and effortless manner.
Notable Features:

  1. Product Mapping: The USP of our app is the product mapping system which offers the customers a list of available products near them in the store.
  2. Fast QR code scanning: SCAN. SHOP. BUY. making the shopping experience fun and hassle-free for the customers, helping them eliminate queue waiting time while ensuring ultimate convenience.
  3. Flexible checkout methods: We offer multiple checkout options like the standard checkout method or home delivery while taking care of security at the time of checkout, ensuring customers' affinity.

Challenges we ran into

The first challenge that needs to be addressed is the proper functioning of our QR codes. While researching about the conditions wherein QR codes fail to perform and, testing some of it out ourselves, we found out that there could be a few potential gaps that might directly affect the performance of our venture and might posses some serious implications of its own. These includes usage of poor quality QR-slips in the shops, poor contrast ratio, design color mismatch. Furthermore, we have also taken heed of the problem that overloading content onto the codes might inflict, which further slows down the scan and processing time on the server-side. This delay could deter potential customers and the retailer might miss out on valuable sales.
The second gap lies in the delivery aspect. As of now, we are flexible with the way customers want their products to get delivered. The retail shops can either choose to partner with us or can continue with their own delivery service. The problem that lies with the latter is that the retailer might overcharge the customers and this way the cost management falls outside our purview. Furthermore, the privacy and security could also be compromised. With items traveling into and out of multiple facilities across the town, maintaining customer confidentiality and complying with regulations gets extremely challenging. A secure wireless system that captures delivery and customer information and which further relays it back to a secure center at the home office would ensure privacy and eliminate the possibility of sensitive information falling into the wrong hands.
