Our idea is to launch smart clothing with wearable flexible sensors. Though, these sensors are useful in monitoring a number different diseases but we as a team have chosen DIABETES because diabetes is one of the most fatal diseases specially in a well -populated country like India. We have got some data to highlight the seriousness of diabetes.
As per World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Diabetes Federation (IDF);

  1. India has more than 77 million diabetic patients.
    2.Faces more than 1 million deaths per year.
  2. As per prediction, we will have around 109 million diabetic patients up to 2035.
    These statistics and data is only for Diabetes but the fact is that Diabetes is responsible for death in more chronic heart or kidney related cases which everybody is aware of. So, our goal is to provide customers an alternate and more efficient solution for tracking diabetes with the added comfort of smart clothes.
    The reason for choosing 'Smart Clothing' was to make people comfortable with these sensors as they find it awkward to wear these sensors on wrist. Our product will change the whole concept of dressing with it's comfort and user-friendly features. People have an existing solution in the form of Glucometer and blood tests but everyone's aware of the fact that how much painful the procedure is. This is where our product stands out, we are not only going to reduce time and difficulty in testing but also provide a real time monitoring which is not possible by traditional method(s). Hence, we can reduce the diabetes caseload by one-third through continuous monitoring of diabetes.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Since this technology is completely new for the users, so inorder to earn their trust and confidence we've worked on the
    methods to make it as accurate and efficient as possible.

  2. The bigger problem in our project was to identify what would be the appropriate places to fix our sensors for maximum
    output and comfort. We've also worked on that and have came up with the ideas for that.

  3. For continuous sweat detection, the reagents need to be replaced regularly otherwise accuracy will be affected. As it is a
    whole new concept so it was very difficult to gather information and understand the working of these bio sensors.

4.Inorder to obtain a considerable and productive output on our project; we had to go through many of the biological terms
which was completely out of the zone.

5.Since due to lockdown and COVID pandemic, it was tough to reach people from different states and colleges for our survey.
