decentralize your bio
The problem swarmtree solves
Most link-in-bio platforms and personal profile pages rely on centralized cloud infrastructure. When providers like AWS experienced outages in 2025, thousands of applications and websites became temporarily inaccessible, showing how fragile centralized systems can be.
Users currently depend on third parties to host and maintain their online identity. If a provider goes offline, changes policies, removes content, or shuts down services, users lose control over their profiles and links.
Swarm + ENS domains provides a decentralized alternative.
People can use it for:
- Creating decentralized Linktree-style profile pages
- Sharing wallets, social links, portfolios, and Web3 identities
- Publishing permanent profiles that are not tied to a single company
- Building censorship-resistant personal websites
It makes existing tasks safer and more resilient by:
- Removing single points of failure
- Distributing content across the Swarm network instead of one server
- Allowing users to fully own their profile through swarm
- Allowing users to easily share their profiles using ENS domain
- Preventing dependency on centralized hosting providers
- Keeping profiles accessible even during infrastructure outages
By combining Swarm’s decentralized storage with ENS human-readable domains, the project creates a more sovereign and durable way for users to manage their online presence in Web3.
Challenges we ran into
- Running swarm node ourselves to use as an endpoint to upload
