SURFY
We are building a Multi chain Crypto Payment App in Real world. With this app, you can make and receive payments in the real world, regardless of chain, using only QR recognition.
The problem SURFY solves
Merchants can use Surfy as a seamless tool for crypto payments, and users can use Surfy to pay with crypto in shops. This will allow us to onboard more people from the real world to Onchain.
We believe that payments are one of the few areas where Web3 services can outperform Web2 services. Users can use their crypto assets to make payments without border restrictions, and merchants can benefit from instant settlement and zero transaction fees. In addition, all assets are non-custodial, so users' assets can be safely managed.
Our service is also multi-chain, and we have built a seamless QR payment flow for 9 coins including USDC and ETH on 9 different blockchain networks including Base, Solana, Erc20, etc.
We interviewed merchants who are accepting crypto payments and one of the major pain points they felt when accepting crypto payments was that it was difficult for bosses to entrust their employees with wallets for crypto payments, and it was cumbersome to take out and show QRs of various wallets for each chain. We solved this problem with a single payment app and have already secured about 10 merchants in Seoul as users.
Challenges I ran into
There were a few issues, but they were worked out.
- Availability of Multichain Support
- Multichain support inevitably introduces complexity in performance and user experience. We have put a lot of thought into solving this issue and will continue to strive to provide a seamless blockchain abstraction experience.
- Settlement through base USDC
- Merchants can receive tokens equivalent to fiat currency. We plan to utilize swap, transfer, and custody services for this purpose, and we are preparing to implement this on the BASE chain.
- QR recognition issues
- For the design, we created a drop-shaped QR tag, but it was not recognized well, so we wanted to change the QR to a square.
- Chain linking issue
- It was difficult to connect to one payment app due to the different characteristics of each chain, but we contacted the person in charge of each chain and solved it.
- For example, Ripple requires a reserve of about 10XRP to be used, but we contacted the foundation and were told that it could be solved through Destination Tag.
- Merchant sales issues.
- Finding merchants willing to accept the niche payment method of crypto payment was a hurdle, but with hard work and persistence, we were able to sign up 10 merchants in less than a month.

Cheer Project
Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
