The problem Suraksha solves

The problems that we are trying to solve:

• 1 in 3 women in India have faced physical or sexual abuse.
• Increasing crime rates in india due to lack of infrastructure.
• However familiar the locality or the streets may be. There are times when one just doesn't feel safe walking on the streets.
• Currently, if someone is feeling unsafe or threatened there is no safe way to proceed unless someone is there to help you.

What is Suraksha?

We believe in the concept that the feeling of Humanity and a part of being Human is all about helping others in need.Whats more important than being safe and not having to worry about who will be there for you when you are in trouble.Suraksha focuses on public safety which depends on creating a community of safety volunteers and using this community to provide instant assistance to anyone in need of help.

What are the features that Suraksha offers?

Suraksha's basic user interface is an app where any citizen can sign up as volunteers and they will be verified and on boarded to our community. The App Users can use the app to get help when in danger or feels threatened . The App creates alerts for the nearby Volunteers, the Police and Loved ones of the user. So the nearby volunteers can reach there on time and help the person in trouble. Building a community of people, who are willing to help others in need, is the main goal of this project. We also will also have continuous monitoring of the streets via CCTV and other Outdoor Surveillance Systems and process these live feeds using our 3D RestNet and LSTM to do anomaly detection on these live streams.

This is just the alpha phase. We plan to implement more features like CCTV alarminin, Natural disaster prevention and alert, Smart Policing, Intergrating the CCTV footage monitoring with police databse to identify criminals etc

Challenges we ran into

1. We did not know much about flutter. We had to learn it from scratch.

2. When we were trying to intergrate google maps into flutter we found that there is a bug with the current version of flutter and gradle. Hence we had to take about 5 hours searchning for an alternate workaround which we did find.

3. We had 0 knowledge in ML and had to research a lot to implement the 3D RESTNET model.

4. The server intergration was also tough.
