The problem Suraksha solves
🛡️ What Suraksha Solves:
Suraksha isn’t just about getting from Point A to B—it’s about getting there safely.
🔹 It's gives the safest route for women avoiding the palces of past crime incidents
🔹 Color-coded markers for instant crime-level awareness.
🔹 In future, we are planning to add Community-driven crime reporting, allowing users to protect each other.
Challenges we ran into
🚧 The Challenge:
Building a safety-focused navigation app with React Native Expo wasn’t easy. We faced:
🔹 No free, open-source APIs for routing and real-time device tracking.
🔹 Zero available datasets on crimes against women in Kolkata or other parts of India, forcing us to manually curate the data.
