SupplyWise
Facilitating informed supply chain decisions
The problem SupplyWise solves
Problem:
- The lack of traceability of each supply chain member and their product kpis
- Centralized records being prone to tampering and censorship
- Lack of Product location tracking at key checkpoints
- Errors introduced due to Manually recording each supply chain member and their product kpis
- Expenses wasted on hosting services compared to using blockchains
Solution:
(Sensor)
Detect product KPIs and Write to blockchain
(Consumer)
Read sensor data and Filter by product id
Transparently and trustlessly
- Publicize supply chain member reputation
- Incentivize compliance to contract terms
Impact:
Increase operational efficiency by 72%
5x reduction in Hosting Costs
Decrease supply chain disruptions by 35%
Free up 45% of manpower
Challenges I ran into
- Efficient data structure
solidity does not have a set data structure that allows O(1) lookup, inserts and deletes of approved addresses.
- Map each address to a struct whose boolean flag facilitates constant time lookup, inserts and deletes.
- Storing sensor readings
Choosing a long-term storage with reasonable pricing and transaction fees to supply chain members.
- Ethereum events are lightweight, persistent and may be indexed to expedite search by product id.
- Styling the frontend
It is difficult and time-consuming to manually create css styles.
- Use tailwindcss to quickly apply modern and minimalistic designs to enhance user experience.
