Building Sui Tracker within a 24-hour hackathon was a significant challenge. Time constraints meant we had to prioritize core features while ensuring the platform was functional and impactful. Integrating real-time data from multiple sources, such as GitHub, Twitter, and the Sui blockchain, was particularly complex due to the need for consistency and accuracy. We addressed this by creating modular backend scripts that processed data from each source independently, streamlining debugging and reducing development time. Additionally, designing an intuitive dashboard to visualize activity scores in real-time was demanding, so we utilized pre-built chart libraries like Chart.js to accelerate development.
Another major hurdle was transitioning from Solidity to the Move language to write smart contracts on the Sui Network. As Solidity developers, adapting to a new syntax, paradigms, and tooling was a steep learning curve. We overcame this by diving into Sui’s official documentation and engaging with community resources, splitting tasks among team members to share the workload. By focusing on a minimum viable product and using collaborative problem-solving techniques, we successfully delivered a platform that demonstrates the core functionalities of Sui Tracker within the limited timeframe.
