The problem Storage Farcaster Gift solves
The updated version of this solution addresses a longstanding issue where users were only able to purchase Farcaster Storage using the Optimism Chain. By integrating it with Glide (https://paywithglide.xyz/), users can now seamlessly make payments using the Base Chain. This integration not only streamlines the payment process but also enhances the overall user experience by providing a more efficient and convenient payment method.
Challenges I ran into
One significant hurdle I encountered was the rate limit imposed on the Neynar API key due to utilizing the free version. This limitation restricted me to fetching only up to 15 users at a time. Ideally, for the functionality I aimed to achieve, there shouldn't be any limit on fetching users' following, especially considering the need to retrieve them initially before calculating storage usage. This became particularly problematic when dealing with users who followed a substantial number of accounts, such as those following 10k or more.
