Startup Quest Because Innovation Should Be a Game.

The problem Startup Quest solves

Student innovators have ideas, but there’s no fun, fair, or motivating system to validate them, improve them, and get support from peers or mentors.

  1. Lack of Engagement in Innovation:
Many students have startup ideas but don’t feel encouraged to explore or share them.

Traditional platforms (like incubators or forms) are boring or too formal.

Startup Quest makes it fun with gamification, tokens, and voting.

  1. No Peer Validation or Honest Feedback:
It’s hard for students to know if an idea is good or bad early on.

Startup Quest lets peers vote with tokens — like a “skin in the game” system.

This makes the feedback more genuine, not just likes and comments.

  1. No Reward for Participation:
Most platforms don’t reward users for giving feedback or participating.

Startup Quest uses a token economy:

Users earn QST tokens for doing tasks and completing phases.

Users spend QST to vote — and if they vote correctly (on ideas that succeed/flop), they win more tokens.

This creates a fun risk-reward loop, like prediction markets or fantasy leagues.

  1. No Real Pressure or Deadlines:
Your app introduces limited-time voting (1 week), so users act quickly.

After that, regular voting allows continuous community input.

  1. No Way to Showcase Achievements:
As users progress through the startup phases (like Pitch, Scale), they get on-chain NFT badges.

These NFTs serve as proof of innovation journey and can go on a resume or profile.

In Summary:
Startup Quest makes student innovation:

Gamified 🕹️

Tokenized 🪙

Socially validated 🤝

Rewarding 🏅

Transparent & fair ⛓️

Challenges we ran into

We had limited time to build a fully functional platform combining Web3 integration, gamified user experience, and token logic. It was tempting to add more features than we could finish, which could have resulted in an unstable MVP.

✅ How We Solved It:

Prioritized Core Features:
We focused only on the essential loop:

Idea submission

Token-based voting

Winner/loser resolution

NFT badge rewards

Used AI & Tools to Accelerate Dev:
Leveraged Cursor AI to scaffold smart contracts, wallet connections, and UI components quickly without writing everything from scratch.

Built Smart, Not Big:
Instead of bloated features, we made sure the base system worked perfectly:

Voting logic was accurate

Token transfer worked

UI was smooth and responsive

Deferred Extras:
Features like profile customization, live chat, and leaderboard were postponed to after MVP validation.
