The problem Squad Wallet solves
SquadWallet tackles the chaotic experience of managing group finances, shared assets, and decision-making among friends, teams, or DAOs. Traditional wallets lack collaborative tools, leaving users to rely on fragmented chats and manual tracking. SquadWallet combines XMTP messaging, Coinbase Smart Wallet, OnchainKit, AgentKit, and Basenames to create a smart shared wallet experience where users can chat with AI agents, split payments, propose and vote on expenses, and track contributions with XP NFT badges. Each group has a unique .squad identity, and the app ensures security with signature verification and Basename authentication. By integrating Web3-native communication, programmable finance, and AI coordination, SquadWallet becomes a fun, social, and secure mini-DAO wallet for the next generation of onchain communities.
Challenges I ran into
Integrating multiple cutting-edge SDKs like XMTP, OnchainKit, AgentKit, Basenames, and Coinbase Smart Wallet posed significant challenges. XMTP integration failed initially due to incompatible viem versions, and syncing AgentKit actions with wallet identities required deep debugging. Setting up Basenames for group identity resolution was tricky, especially with signature verification logic. OnchainKit previews broke due to missing wallet providers. Balancing onchain contracts (XPBadges, BasenameRegistry) with offchain AI agent logic required careful coordination.
