Getting sports equipment is not a hurdle, it's a piece of cake with Sportech
The problem Sportech solves
What this web app is designed to do is streamline the process of issuing sports equipment to students and make it hassle-free. One can get a basketball, football, or for that matter any sports equipment in a matter of minutes in but a few clicks. Our app makes sure that you can see a live list of the current owners of any sports equipment which means you can borrow from friends without ever having to wait. Our app also will remind you when your equipment is due for return, so you need not fret about remembering it all, just check your mailbox.
Challenges we ran into
Firebase version 8 and version 9 were drastically different which caused a lot of confusion as a measurable multitude of available resources were referring to the obsolete version of the framework at hand. While deploying and serving the project files, firebase would at times bug out not recognize that we had the permission to access our database and authentication data due to limited bandwidth constraints. Our team consists of mostly new-to-the-scene developers at the moment so we had to learn not only firebase but also Html, CSS, javascript along with a number of APIs and JavaScript frameworks which largely went unused such as ReactJS.
