The problem SplitX solves

SplitX is a decentralized application that simplifies group expense management by eliminating the need for a central authority or intermediary. It enables people to split expenses with their friends, family, or colleagues without the hassle of managing who owes whom and how much. With SplitX, users can easily track and settle their shared expenses in a transparent and secure manner, without any fear of data manipulation or fraud.

SplitX leverages the power of blockchain technology to create a tamper-proof ledger of all shared expenses, ensuring that every transaction is transparent and immutable. Users can create groups, add expenses, and invite members to join their group, and SplitX will automatically calculate how much each person owes or is owed. Users can settle their dues using their preferred cryptocurrency, and SplitX will automatically update the ledger, reflecting the settlement.

SplitX makes group expense management easier, safer, and more efficient, freeing people from the burden of managing shared expenses manually.

Challenges I ran into

Building a decentralized application like SplitX was not without its challenges. One of the biggest challenges I faced was designing an intuitive user interface that would be easy to use for both technical and non-technical users. I had to strike a balance between simplicity and functionality, ensuring that users could easily create groups, add expenses, and settle their dues without getting lost in complex technical jargon.

Debugging the Solidity code was also a significant challenge. SInce there were a lot of mappings between groups, users and their expenses, the smart contract had to be written efficiently to reduce latency.

Cheer Project

Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
