Spin
Infrastructure for Truly Autonomous Worlds
The problem Spin solves
Spin solves a number of problems in building a truly autonomous worlds (AW). First, the speed at which such worlds run. Speed is critical for user immersion convincibility of AW. Spin provides a whole suite of algorithms and tools to fine-tune the end uses's experience. Second, the productivity for the developers to build applications and games in the AW. Web3 is notorious for fragmented technologies and the difficulty to ramp up. Spin provides an one-stop development environment for fast product iteration. Third, Spin provides methodology and tools to integrate web2 and web3. We believe that a prosperous future of web3 lies in an organic integration between web2 and web3. Throughout this project, zero-knowledge proof is heavily used as the link of trust.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a number of challenges. First, as ZK is core to our solutions, and at the same time the existing tools chains are not easy to use, it took us quite some time putting things together. One thing that helped us get over it is to work closely with the vendor. Most ZK tech are early stage and the vendors are friendly to work with. Second, we encountered a lot of problems integrating web2 and web3. Sometimes the integration works but the UX is not ideal. We think that this would be a reality for the foreseeable future before some web2 platforms and willing to adjust for better web3 integration. Last but not least, product management and project management for an ambiguous space like web3 is always challenging. We just have to keep refining our message and product thesis to make it easier for our customers and investors to onboard.
