The problem SpillTheTea solves
In today’s fast-paced digital world, people are overwhelmed with information overload, clickbait, and generic AI-written news that lacks trust or personality. Traditional news platforms struggle to keep up with real-time updates and Gen-Z engagement preferences.
Spill The Tea solves this by building an AI-driven, automated news ecosystem that filters out noise and serves only what matters — summarized, credible, and actually fun to read. It combines AI summarization, toxicity detection, and brand-style humor to make news both trustworthy and entertaining.
In short, it helps users stay informed without getting bored — while helping creators and brands automate news delivery with minimal human input.
Challenges we ran into
Building Spill The Tea came with its fair share of chaos from AI models acting like corporate interns to databases throwing tantrums mid-run. Getting the right sarcastic tone without breaking grammar was a major struggle, and making Telegram post automatically felt like convincing a cat to take a bath. We also battled prompt tuning, schema errors, and Markdown bugs all while running on caffeine and vibes. But hey, after countless retries (and memes), the system finally started spitting out news with just the right amount of sass.
