The problem SOWAMA solves

SOWAMA users can receive rewards for delivering the organic solid waste they generate for proper management in order to reduce the negative impact on the environment.

Transforming organic solid waste management from a linear and inefficient model to a circular and economically viable ecosystem that encourages sustainable practices which facilitates proper management of such waste.

SOWAMA promotes organic solid waste management through:

• The creation of a transparent and secure blockchain-based organic waste management ecosystem.
• The tokenization of waste as valuable ecological assets.
• The provision of direct economic incentives for reduction and proper processing.
• The ability to verifiably track ecological impact.
• The democratization of waste management through Web3 technologies.

Challenges we ran into

1. The ERC-1155 multi-token setup was complex due to batch minting and role management (e.g., owner, minterManager).

Solution:
-Refactored contracts to minimize unnecessary writes and reduce gas consumption.

2. Making Web3 accessible to users unfamiliar with wallets and blockchain concepts.

Solution:

• Simplified UI using RainbowKit for wallet connection.
• Abstracted blockchain interactions with readable language (“Earn”, “Use”, “Track Impact”).
• Considered future custodial wallet options and social login integrations.

3. The free version of Gemini chatbot was not supported.

Solution:
It was necessary to use the paid version.
