Songcast empowers music artists to earn from their work by transforming their songs into Music Coins—unlocking income through both creator earnings and creator allocations for each music coin.
From the very first minute, artists can start earning. In fact, the debut full-length track "Vent" generated over $200 in creator earnings for the artist (https://zora.co/coin/base:0x50ca3d669e893da18cc55875e8ec7a12ce36cdcf), setting the tone for what’s possible. More musicians are joining every day, helping to pioneer a new, artist-centric platform.
Before Songcast, artists on Zora often found their music buried in a sea of unrelated content. Songcast changes that. By leveraging Zora’s Coin SDK, it creates a dedicated space exclusively for musicians and their art. Artists can upload professionally mastered audio, custom cover art, and detailed descriptions—making Songcast the best way to discover, support, and connect with music on Zora.
One notable obstacle during development arose from early user feedback:
Users reported that tapping “Continue” in the Warpcast mobile app to log in wasn’t working—no notification was appearing on their devices.
How I solved it:
I redesigned the connection flow by replacing the single login button with a dropdown menu offering three distinct wallet connectors: Warpcast Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Injected. This approach improved reliability and ensured compatibility across a wider range of wallets.
Additionally, I implemented a network switch mechanism to handle edge cases where the wallet connection didn’t automatically align with the correct network.
