Challenges we ran into

During the development of the decentralized token-based social media platform, we faced several challenges:

• Daily Like and Share Count: Implementing a reliable system to track daily likes and shares was more complex than anticipated. We had to ensure that the counts reset daily without losing any data, which required careful handling of state management and time-based logic. We overcame this by leveraging a combination of server-side cron jobs and front-end state management, ensuring that the counts reset accurately and reflected user interactions in real-time.

• Working with NFTs: Integrating NFT functionality into a social media platform presented unique challenges, particularly in ensuring smooth transactions and displaying NFTs properly within the user interface. We had to optimize the NFT creation and trading process to be user-friendly while maintaining the security and integrity of the blockchain transactions. This required deep integration with blockchain APIs and extensive testing to ensure everything worked as expected.

• Rigorous Nature of TypeScript: TypeScript’s strict type-checking added an extra layer of complexity to our development process. While it helped catch errors early, it also required more meticulous code structure, especially when dealing with dynamic data from blockchain interactions. To overcome this, we embraced TypeScript’s features, creating custom types and interfaces to manage the complexity and ensure the code remained maintainable and robust.

These challenges pushed us to refine our approach and deepen our understanding of both the technology and the user experience, ultimately leading to a more stable and user-friendly platform.
