SOCIAL DISTANCING SPECTATOR
Social Distancing Spectator is an AI tool to prevent spreading of corona-virus (COVID-19) by using computer vision on video surveillance of CCTV cameras and drones.
The problem SOCIAL DISTANCING SPECTATOR solves
COVID-19 is a disease caused by a corona-virus which appeared in China in December 2019. It is primarily spread between people during close contact. Social Distancing Spectator automatically detects the extent to which social distancing protocols are followed in the area using thermal images.
Deploying it on current surveillance systems and drones used by police to monitor large areas can help to prevent corona-virus by allowing automated and better tracking of activities happening in the area.
It shows analytics of the area in real time.
It can also be used to alert police in case of considerable violation of social distancing protocols in a particular area.
Hence, this work aims at minimizing the spread of the COVID-19 virus by evaluating if and how persons comply with social distancing rules.
The proposed approach is applied to images acquired through thermal cameras, to establish a complete AI system for people tracking, social distancing classification, and body temperature monitoring.
Challenges we ran into
The Most difficult part is to make the formula of Caliberating the distance between two persons.
