Smart Parking System

The project is a web app which connects users who own and drive vehicles with owners of buildings such as apartment complexes, educational institutions, convention halls etc.

The problem Smart Parking System solves

Parking is a major issue in metropolitan cities and people can never seem to find the right parking spot as they frequently occupy no parking spots or perform illegal street parking which further contributes to traffic and congestion problems.
Meanwhile building owners have an abundance of parking spaces which go unused for most of the year. By helping owners monetize these parking spaces we are also offering vehicle owners a solution. We use a wallet system through which the user can reserve a parking system and they are charged hourly for the duration they park.

To prevent false alerts we have a cover charge system in place. To further solidify the system and prevent users from parking without notifying the app we can take the vehicle numbers on input and penalize their account wallets or note their accounts.

Challenges we ran into

We used Figma to craft a unique UI and UX for our web app but when we had to connect it to back end and add functions to it we needed to convert this to html and link javascript with it.
We had to use a plugin to convert our pages into html and further fix the css associated with them and make minor fixes to every page and their links with each other.
