"Smart Ward Monitoring and Automated Care: From Safety to Pill Delivery"
The problem Smart Health care hub solves
Patient Safety
The system enhances patient safety by using ultrasonic sensors to monitor the patient's position. It can detect if the patient is lying in bed, sitting, or has fallen to the ground. In case of a fall, an alert is triggered, ensuring caregivers can provide immediate assistance.
Environmental Monitoring
The device ensures the patient is in a pleasant and healthy environment by monitoring temperature, humidity, and air quality. While the DHT11 sensor monitors temperature and humidity levels to stop health issues brought on by unfavorable environmental circumstances, the MQ135 air quality sensor finds dangerous contaminants.
Medication Management
The automated pill dispenser ensures timely medication delivery, reducing human error and improving medication adherence. This feature helps patients stay on track with their treatment plans without constant supervision.
Real-Time Alerts
A buzzer system provides immediate audible notifications in emergencies, such as a fall or a failure in dispensing medication. These real-time alerts allow caregivers to respond quickly to critical situations.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of the ward monitoring and pill dispenser system, several challenges were encountered. Sensor calibration was a key issue, as ensuring accurate readings from the DHT11, MQ135, and ultrasonic sensors required careful adjustment and placement. Interference between ultrasonic sensors often led to false readings
