The problem SkillEx solves
Learners no matter the stage they are in, face a constant issue of finding reliable and tried and tested resources for their learning journey. We try to solve that issue by building a community where learners can exchange high quality verified resources, teach other skills they are proficient in, build their resume and even get 1:1 mentorship. How it is different from the widely available free resources on the net is that, the resources are never ending, and our opinions are influenced mostly based on the people we interact with, but having someone experienced guide you in the skill you want to master, that they have themselves learned, narrows down the infinite resources present on the internet, to few reliable and trusted resources. Which is quite the headache among learners of all ages trying to master something new.
Challenges we ran into
So our team being fully comprised of first year students with little knowledge about actual deployment, our biggest hurdle was to deploy the app using Vercel. We built our repository quite fast on GitHub, but we faced numerous challenges during integration of different aspects of the project that were being handled by each teammate. Syncing the code across all the machines uniformly, was quite the headache. After integrating, we faced huge issues while deploying. Even after manually parsing through the whole repository and taking help of various resources, the deployment was challenging. As it was our first time integrating and deploying an actual project.
