Why are you participating for Based SEA?

We are participating in Based SEA because of the growing need to address fragmented liquidity across multiple chains in the Southeast Asian region. BASE has a strong potential to simplify cross-chain asset transfers, and our solution aims to improve the user experience for this emerging market. We have strong connections within the SEA blockchain community and want to contribute to BASE's ecosystem while helping users easily navigate the complex cross-chain transfer landscape.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We are addressing the challenge of fragmented liquidity across EVM-based chains and layers, which makes it difficult for users to transfer assets across chains. The current solutions, such as centralized exchanges (CEX) and bridges, are often complex, slow, and costly. By simplifying the process of cross-chain swaps and reducing transaction fees, we aim to enhance the user experience, particularly for those in the SEA region who often deal with multi-chain operations.

How does your submission address this challenge?

WhiteBlueSwap offers a cross-chain swap solution built on BASE, which allows users to easily transfer assets across chains with low fees. Our solution removes the need for centralized exchanges or third-party bridging platforms, consolidating liquidity and facilitating smoother transactions. By increasing traffic on BASE, we not only solves the liquidity fragmentation problem but also boosts user engagement by making cross-chain transfers more accessible and affordable.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the technical challenges we encountered were related to integrating multiple EVM-based layers into one seamless swapping solution. Managing liquidity pools across different chains while ensuring low fees for users was complex. We also faced difficulties in ensuring compatibility between different smart contracts across chains. Through rigorous testing and optimization, we overcame these issues by implementing efficient cross-chain communication protocols and leveraging BASE's infrastructure.

We also faced some challenges when integrating CoinBase Smart Wallet and Base Name Service, but with strong support and guidance from the BASE team, we were able to overcome them and fully integrate our project with the BASE ecosystem.

Additional Features

During the Buildathon, we focused on defining our swap mechanics for scalability and enhancing the user experience by integrating BASE’s infrastructure to reduce fees and increase swap speeds. We also added support for several EVM-compatible chains, expanding the utility of our platform for multi-chain operations.

Notably, we fully integrated with Coinbase Smart Wallet and Base Name Service, while also optimizing the UI/UX. Our solution was deployed on BASE as well as other Layer 2 chains like Arbitrum.
