The problem Silent Signals solves
Silent Signals the critical challenge of communication and coordination during disasters. It enables users to send SOS alerts with real-time location, access essential information through a multilingual AI chatbot, and report incidents with photos even in low or no network areas using offline and mesh communication. The platform provides a centralized directory of emergency contacts, preparedness checklists, and live updates, ensuring that individuals and responders can stay connected, informed, and take timely action during any crisis.
Challenges we ran into
1> No Internet
We needed to build the app to work without internet using mesh networking, so people can still communicate during disasters.
2> Missing Updates
Real-time updates were needed, so we added an AI chatbot to deliver critical information like first-aid and evacuation routes.
3> Slow Reports
Users needed to send incident reports quickly, so we created a system to easily upload photos and location data with timestamps.
4> Hard to Use
The app had to be user-friendly and work on low-end devices even when internet access was poor or unavailable.
5> Emergency Contacts
We integrated a click-to-call feature to allow users to easily reach emergency services even with weak network coverage.
