SHRAMIK

"Shramik"(श्रमिक) in hindi refers to the worker or labourer who does unskilled and low payed jobs due to inadequate financial resources .Our project targets to do something for them.

The problem SHRAMIK solves

As we all are well aware of ,whole world is facing the pandemic and apart from taking many lives , it has made numerous amount of unskilled and education deprived workers, jobless .This arises an alarming need of a solution to prevent further destruction . Current Scenario :-
In the initial phase of training for new recruits a big-budget, time, and a huge place are required for setting up a training centres which increases the cost of training.
Traditionally only the workers who can afford to get some training were able to get jobs whereas the illiterate and the ones who cant afford these paid trainings are left with no other option than to just do low level jobs .These jobs have low salaries and lack of knowledge deprives them of what they deserve.
LACK OF INTERACTIVE TRAINING IS THE ONLY REASON WHY THERE IS MANY UNSKILLED LABOURERS IN OUR COUNTRY.
TRAINING IS THE ONLY WAY BY WHICH ONE REDUCES THE CHANCE OF ERROR AND WORK SAFELY.

Considering all these issues , our team has developed project “SHRAMIK” .
Shramik basically is an android application made with the Augmented Reality Technology .
With the help of this application ,anyone can get industrial training free of cost without going to training centres as we bring training centres to your home .
Brief about our application : It contains three sub parts :

  1. AR-Portal : As you can see it brings a 3d door on your floor passing through which we enter in an virtual 360 degree world where we can see an industry functioning and it can act as alternative to real industrial visits .
  2. Machine-Renderer: This feature displays models of some machinery and equipments used in various industries . These models separate out in its sub parts , which increases the understanding about its parts and physical overview.
  3. Mobile-View: At last, we built an application so that users can learn about particular machines which they’ll have to operate, their parts and their complete structure .

Challenges I ran into

We faced some issues in getting perfect models to present our idea in descriptive way and to apply proper animations to its parts when it gets separated out because it is time-consuming and requires a bit of patience.
In AR-Portal, the coding part was a bit ticklish due to the video loop in a 360-degree environment but we managed that by referring to online documentations and stack-overflow.
The equipments viewer feature took the longest time as we had to apply animations to its parts manually .
However ,, whenever we get stuck , community as always comes to our rescue through its forums, discussion panels etc.
