DeFi-Guard

Stop the Hack Before It Happens

The problem DeFi-Guard solves

DeFi has lost billions of dollars to hacks and exploits such as flash loan attacks, rug pulls, and sandwich trades. Existing solutions are mostly reactive (audits, insurance) and can’t stop an exploit once it begins.

DeFi Transaction Guard changes that by acting as a real-time firewall:

  • 🕵️ Detects suspicious transactions before execution using AI anomaly detection.
  • Blocks malicious activity instantly with BlockDAG’s low-latency enforcement.
  • 🔒 Protects users and protocols automatically — no manual monitoring required.
  • 🌍 Works seamlessly with DeFi protocols, wallets, and bridges, keeping the ecosystem safer.

In short, this project makes existing DeFi interactions safer, faster, and more trustworthy by providing proactive protection where it matters most — before the exploit drains funds.

Challenges I ran into

Building a real-time exploit firewall wasn’t easy. Some of the key challenges included:

  • Low-latency AI inference → Ensuring the AI model could score transactions in <200ms so it didn’t slow down DeFi activity.
  • On-chain enforcement → Designing the

    protected()

    smart contract modifier to work with BlockDAG’s parallel execution without breaking protocol logic.
  • Staking mechanism → Creating an incentive-aligned BDAG staking + slashing model to ensure validators report threats honestly.
  • Integration complexity → Making the system plug-and-play for developers with a simple SDK while still handling high-frequency DeFi traffic.
  • Decentralized hosting → Deploying the AI service and dashboards on Akash GPUs for scalability and censorship resistance.

Despite these hurdles, we managed to build a working prototype that proves the concept and can scale further with ecosystem adoption.
