The problem ShellDrop solves

What was the last time you shared a private file with your loved one? The last time you shared secret files within your organization which got compromised. The last time you uploaded a file but you thought again it could be compromised. Can you say a single platform is safe enough from internal threats? We have come to a point where everyone has become an endpoint for mining data for making a model of ourselves by corporations and their high-value target is our private files. Without privacy there is no security without security there will be no victory.

Challenges we ran into

Deployment was one of our major concerns. we would have to set up multiple dependencies to get the platform on its feet especially setting up of tor will include installing of. Danwand who is in charge of DevOps came up with an idea of dockerizing the whole project which could save much time testing functioning of tor in other environments. Also, our manager Vinu Balagopal A P came up with an innovative idea of the platforms to do. All of us were newbies in their own respective fields. The implementation of blockchain for storing hashed values was dropped and we replaced it with MongoDB. We plan to continue with the project into reality even after the hackathon.
