Tokenizing Social Interaction

The problem Selyo solves

Selyo simplifies and enhances the attendee experience by removing common friction points found in traditional events. Manual registrations, paper-based check-ins, and long entry lines are replaced with streamlined online registration and NFC-enabled tap-and-go access. This results in faster entry, fewer errors, and a more interactive and modern event experience.

  • ✅ Online registration creates instant digital profiles

  • ✅ NFC cards replace long check-in lines with tap access

  • ✅ Consistent interaction tracking improves attendee engagement

  • ✅ No need for paper forms or manual data entry

For organizers and sponsors, Selyo delivers real-time insights and automation that improve operational efficiency and data quality. Organizers can monitor attendance live, track engagement across sessions or exhibits, and automatically generate post-event reports. Sponsors can collect interaction data and attendee contacts (with consent), allowing for better lead generation and post-event communication.

  • 📊 Real-time dashboards track participation instantly

  • 🔄 Automated reporting replaces manual post-event data crunching

  • 🤝 Sponsors get verified attendee data for targeted follow-ups

  • 📈 Better visibility into session popularity and user interest

Selyo provides tamper-proof, verifiable digital badges as NFTs. These act as lasting records of attendance, achievements, or interactions, ensuring authenticity and offering attendees meaningful digital memorabilia. This creates long-term value for both users and event stakeholders.

  • 🔐 NFTs are secure, tamper-proof, and impossible to forge

  • 🏆 Digital badges double as certificates and event souvenirs

  • 🌐 Blockchain ensures lifetime accessibility and verification

  • 🎯 Sponsors can issue branded, permanent tokens for impact and recall

Challenges we ran into

During development, we encountered several challenges that required creative problem-solving. One major issue was unstable Wi-Fi connectivity, which our NFC reader depends on; this became problematic in certain venues, prompting us to explore alternatives like LoRaWAN for more reliable communication. We also faced a technical hurdle when two NFTs were minted simultaneously on Base, causing errors due to how our smart contracts were constructed—this was promptly resolved by adjusting the contract logic. Additionally, prototyping the second generation of our Panatak NFC reader was limited by budget constraints, so we improvised by salvaging spare parts to minimize costs and continue development.
